Dear Conner

Introduction of why I wrote the letter

After the death of our first grandchild, I needed a way to cope with Conner’s death (the grandchild).  I started writing a letter to him.  At first, I wrote a short letter to Conner that was read at his funeral.  After the funeral, I felt so empty inside.   I didn’t know what to do with the feelings I was having inside.  The feelings are so private and real.  So one early morning I sat down and started writing Conner a letter about what happened the day he was born and all the events that followed.

My Goal

My ultimate goal for my ministry is to let parents and grandparents know you can have joy again.  You will never get over your loss but you can move on one step at a time.  Often times it is said “one needs closure”.  I don’t completely understand that statement.  Your child is your child and if one loses a child you will never “close” that chapter of your life as they will always be a part of your family.
